Coca-Cola Replaces Plastic Packaging With New Cardboard Technology

The Coca-Cola company wants to replace its plastic packaging in Europe with a new cardboard technology called KeelClip, which is the first attempt in the non-alcoholic drink industry.

Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing issues of the 21st century, and plastic waste is almost everywhere. It is estimated that in 2016 alone, global plastic production exceeded 320 million tons, and that number will double by 2034. Plastic waste even flows into the sea, and 8 million pieces of plastic waste pollute our waters every day and destroy the habitats of hundreds of species. It is believed that today there are approximately 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic waste in the ocean, with a total weight of 269,000 tons. For a long time, the situation has been very grim and action needs to be taken as soon as possible.

Therefore, paper packaging, which has the advantages of lower cost, saving resources, easy machining-control, more environmentally friendly, pollution-free, recyclable, has become a major trend in packaging in the future. Whether it is a corrugated carton box used for transportation packaging, or a cardboard box or paper bag used for sales of product packaging, paper material is always the first choice. As a packaging company with more than 10 years of manufacturing, we provide a variety of paper packaging products around the world. Please contact us for more packaging needs.
